Learning to PhotoshopImages were made during one hour of "Photoshop with The GIMP".
Put all of your GIMP windows/tools into one window using: "Window" ==> "Single Window Mode" (from the top drop-down menu) |
The expression "to photoshop something or someone" came from people talking about using Adobe Photoshop software. This software is still the industry standard over 20 years later. Unfortunately, it is too expensive for us, but we will achieve similar results using The GIMP.

In class, we started "photoshopping" with the Clone tool.
(See the "eyeballs" and "hot dog" below.) Then we learned how to copy an image as a new layer onto another image.
(See the ladies grouped together. Instructions below.) What a busy hour! |

Using Layers
Copy another image and paste it as a new layer. Basic instructions are to the right, but you may also need to stretch the layer larger or smaller (using the Scale tool) or rotate it (using the Rotate tool). Remember, with many GIMP tools (like Scale and Rotate) a popup window will appear when you click. Don't be alarmed. Just drag the action you desire and then click the button with the tool's name. |
